Appeals - Rule 14

Rule 14 is established to provide a uniform and orderly procedure for effecting discipline, specifically dismissal, suspension or demotion, within the Mobile County Merit System.  Rule 14 provides the following:

  • the causes for dismissal, suspension or demotion (Rule 14.2)
  • the procedure for affording a permanent employee due process prior to dismissal, suspension or demotion (Rule 14.3)
  • the appeal process one must follow (Rule 14.4)
  • other details related to dismissal, suspension or demotion.
