Mobile County Personnel Board Welcomes New Board Member Three

We are pleased to welcome Ann Y. Brown as Personnel Board Member Three, serving Mobile County House District 97 and 103.  Ms. Brown is a longtime managing attorney for Legal Services Alabama (LSA), one of the preeminent legal aid organizations in the country in bridging the civil justice gap through its recognized commitment to serving low-income people throughout Alabama. She works to assist in providing free, client-centered, civil legal advocacy to working Alabamians, collaborating with others across the state and nation to find solutions to issues caused by poverty.

Ms. Brown has a law degree from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island and an undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta. Prior to attending law school, she was employed with American Red Cross for nearly 20 years in various management positions.

Ms. Brown serves as a community volunteer on the Board of Directors for the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program and the Vernon Z. Crawford Bay Area Bar Association, as well as the Africatown Redevelopment Corporation. She is a past president of the Women Lawyers Section of the Mobile Bar Association. Ms. Brown is a lifelong member of Bethel AME Church.
