About the Director

Adam Bourne is the Civil Service Director for Mobile County, where he leads personnel administration in support of public agencies and the employees who serve the community. He began his career in Alabama government as an Assistant Attorney General and has since served in a range of leadership roles, including Civil Division Manager for the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy License Commissioner for Mobile County, and a member of the Chickasaw City Council.

Bourne is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law and the University of South Carolina. Drawing on experience in law, county government, and municipal leadership, he is committed to promoting an efficient, fair, and modern Civil Service system that helps local government attract, support, and retain a high-quality workforce. He lives in Mobile County with his wife and daughter.
