JOB POSTINGS

Changes are being made to better serve you!

Coming in February 2012 is a new, online application process.
Paper applications will be a thing of the past!

We will have no job postings during our conversion process in January.

Acceptance of new applications begins in February.
In the meantime, hiring continues from existing applications.

Using this new online application process to apply for job opportunities within local government in Mobile County, you will be able to:

  • establish a JobOpps account that allows you to apply easily for future job postings
  • locate and apply for job postings anytime, anywhere - 24 hours a day/7 days a week
  • update the information in your account as needed
  • view your application status
  • receive periodic email communications from MCPB
  • submit job interest cards to be notified about future postings

Read on for steps to open a "JobOpps" account today!

And be sure to check back often as we will provide updates on the progress of the new system as they are available.

A JobOpps account will link you to opportunities within local government in Mobile County. It is as simple as 1, 2, 3 ...

  1. PREPARE AHEAD
To set up your account, you will be asked for complete information about your education and work history (i.e. employers, dates, addresses, etc.). Entry time is limited. STOP and gather information before you begin. Collect any related documents, such as your driver's license, college transcripts and certifications. These documents may be scanned when establishing your account.

  2. EMAIL ACCESS
You will need an email address to begin your JobOpps account. The email address will allow you to access your account, learn about job opportunities and receive future communications from us. If you do not already have an email address, free email accounts are available through a number of internet providers. The Mobile County Personnel Board cannot endorse any particular provider, but examples of free email providers include: Google, Inbox, Microsoft and Yahoo.
NOTE: You cannot share email addresses with anyone else. Each individual applicant must have a unique Username and Password and email address.

  3. ACCOUNT SET-UP
Follow this link to create an account. An Online Employment Application Guide is available to provide instructions. You will be asked to enter a USERNAME and PASSWORD of your choosing. Please make sure to record and retain this information for future reference.

Many of the documents and help guides are PDF documents. To view and print them, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader:
